Abbas Afridi hit five sixes off Krunal Pandya in the opening over of the chase as Pakistan beat India by four wickets in their Group C match at the Hong Kong Sixes. PTI said the over turned the game away from India.

India, put in to bat, finished on 88 for five from their six overs, with Shashank Singh making 40 off 11 balls. Pakistan needed 89 and reached 92 for two in 3.5 overs, according to PTI, while Outlook’s match page recorded 91 for two.

The chase

Khawaja Nafay made 41 off 12 balls and Afridi 35 off eight, putting on 59 for the opening wicket in 13 balls. Outlook named Afridi Player of the Match for that onslaught. Abdul Samad and Irfan Khan saw Pakistan home.

India’s top order did not settle. Rahul Tripathi was out for 9 and Nitish Rana for 19.

Tournament context

The event is being played at the Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground from 30 October to 1 November, the PCB said. Pakistan, captained by Afridi, are in Pool C, one of four pools of three teams, and Outlook says the four pool toppers go through to the semi-finals.

Pakistan are the defending champions, having beaten Kuwait by 43 runs in the 2025 final.
