Abbas Afridi, the Pakistan captain, hit five consecutive sixes off India counterpart Krunal Pandya’s opening over of the chase, taking 30 runs from it, as Pakistan beat India by four wickets in their Group C match of the 2026 Hong Kong Sixes at Mission Road Ground in Mong Kok on Friday.

Pakistan reached the 89-run target in 3.5 overs.

How the chase was won

India were sent in and made 88 for five in their six overs, with Shashank Singh top-scoring on 40 off 11 balls.

Afridi and his opening partner Khawaja Nafay put on 59 runs in 13 balls, and the contest slipped away from India. Krunal’s first over, which went for 30, did most of the damage.

Group C and what’s next

Pakistan, who lost their opener to the UAE, moved to the top of Group C. India slipped to the bottom and must beat the UAE in their final group match on Saturday to stay in contention for a semi-final place, Business Standard reports.

Beyond the Sixes, India’s next scheduled fixture is the fifth T20I against New Zealand on Sunday, 1 November at 12:30 PM IST. India’s most recent T20I in that series, on 30 October, ended in an 87-run defeat to New Zealand, who made 259/7 to India’s 172/9.

Pakistan’s next scheduled fixture is the first Test of their series against Sri Lanka on Monday, 9 November at 10:30 AM IST.
