Cricket West Indies have announced their international retainer contracts for 2026-27, and John Campbell is back on the list for the first time since 2019 after a productive 2025-26 season. Matthew Forde and Amir Jangoo receive their first retainers.

The senior groups carry 15 men and 15 women, and three more men are on development contracts. The deals run from 1 October 2026 to 30 September 2027.

The new names

Forde was West Indies’ leading powerplay wicket-taker across both white-ball formats over the past year, with 10 wickets in T20Is and six in ODIs.

Jangoo made a career-best 233 against Sri Lanka in Antigua in June. His 401-run sixth-wicket stand with Roston Chase set a new world record for Tests. He has kept scoring in the second World Test Championship Test against Bangladesh, finishing Day 1 unbeaten on 111.

Women’s contracts

Mandy Mangru earns a maiden retainer after being part of the West Indies women’s squad that reached the semi-finals of the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.

The women’s side plays a three-match ODI series against Pakistan in December under interim head coach Andre Coley. It is a chance to secure automatic qualification for the next ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup.

What’s next

Miles Bascombe, Cricket West Indies’ Director of Cricket, said every one of these contracts is tied to a job ahead. The men’s first task, he said, is the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier in February.

The men’s side comes into it after winning the Test in Bangladesh that began on 28 October by 8 wickets. Earlier in October they won two of the three completed T20Is in India, and the ODI there ended with no result because of rain.
