Prasidh Krishna declared fit for India’s NZ Tests
Prasidh Krishna has been declared fit for India’s two-Test series in New Zealand after a left hamstring injury ruled him out of the five-match ODI series. A BCCI source told PTI on Tuesday, 3 November, that the right-arm pacer is set to be available for the Tests.
The ODI series begins in Auckland on Wednesday, 4 November, at 7:30 AM IST. Auqib Nabi has been added to India’s squad for the first three ODIs as Prasidh’s replacement.
The injury and the fitness test
Deccan Herald reported that Prasidh pulled the hamstring during the home ODI series against the West Indies. A BCCI source told PTI earlier that his match simulation and fitness test were lined up at the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru on 1 and 2 November.
The same source said the team management and selectors believed he would be fully ready for Tests, where he is needed more than in ODIs. He is named in India’s 16-man Test squad for the tour, which the BCCI’s Men’s Selection Committee announced on 16 October 2026.
Red-ball preparation
Prasidh is also expected to play the third unofficial four-day Test between India A and New Zealand A at Lincoln, from 7 to 10 November. That would give him a red-ball outing before the Tests.
Nitish Kumar Reddy will stay with India’s ODI squad for the opening ODI and then join India A for red-ball preparation.
What’s next
The first Test is in Wellington from 19 to 23 November. The second follows in Christchurch from 27 November to 1 December.
