Shadab Khan’s maiden ODI ton wins it for Pakistan by one wicket
Shadab Khan hit his maiden ODI century, an unbeaten 113 off 96 balls, to take Pakistan to a one-wicket win over England in Lahore and into the final of the ODI tri-series on 31 October.
Pakistan were 154-9 while chasing 242 before Shadab and Haris Rauf added 89 unbeaten runs for the last wicket. Pakistan finished on 243-9 in 47.1 overs.
The details
Shadab’s innings included 13 fours and five sixes. He survived a leg-before appeal on 97 when a DRS review showed an inside edge.
The 89-run stand for the 10th wicket was reported by the Tribune as the highest for that wicket in a successful ODI chase, beating the previous mark of 64. The Daily Star called it a new world record.
Ben Duckett made 105 off 111 balls for England, but his hundred was not enough.
