Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf has been fined 20 per cent of his match fee by the ICC for a Level 1 breach of the Code of Conduct during the tri-series ODI against England in Lahore. England captain Harry Brook also accepted a sanction in the same matter.

The incident came at the end of Pakistan’s 46th over. Rauf, at the non-striker’s end, appealed for a wide and then argued with England all-rounder Will Jacks.

What the ICC found

Rauf carried on arguing even after on-field umpire Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid had warned him, and he also raised his bat in frustration. The charge was under Article 2.20, which covers conduct contrary to the spirit of the game, and it added one demerit point to his record.

It was Rauf’s third offence within a 24-month period, which takes his demerit total to five. He and Brook both admitted their offences and accepted the sanctions proposed by Jeff Crowe of the ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees, so no formal hearing was needed.

England were fined separately, 15 per cent of their match fee, after being ruled three overs short of the allotted time once time allowances were considered.

The match

The game, played on Sunday, ended with Pakistan winning by one wicket. Pakistan made 243/9 in 47.1 overs against England’s 241 in 46.4 overs, with Shadab Khan’s century and a last-wicket stand involving Rauf deciding it.

It was Pakistan’s second win over England in the Pakistan ODI Tri-Series 2026, after their 87-run victory on 20 October.

What’s next

Pakistan lost to Sri Lanka by 8 wickets on 27 October, when they were bowled out for 110 in 25.3 overs. They meet Sri Lanka again in the tri-series final on Saturday, 31 October, at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

England play Sri Lanka in the tri-series on Thursday, 29 October, at 2:00 PM IST.
