IPL 2027 retention deadline moves to 17 November
The BCCI has extended the IPL 2027 retention and release deadline for all 10 franchises by two days to 17 November, while the mini-auction stays on 16 December in Goa. The board told teams in a communique on Monday, 2 November.
The original deadline was 15 November, the day of the fifth and final ODI between India and New Zealand. The two extra days were given because of that scheduling clash.
What changes for franchises
Teams now have more time to decide which players to keep and which to let go ahead of the mini-auction. The clash that prompted the extension involves the fifth ODI, which is set for the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui.
Another clash on auction day
An ODI is also scheduled on the day of the auction. India are set to host Sri Lanka in the second match of that series at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Outlook India reports that the BCCI has given no indication that it plans to alter the auction timetable because of that fixture.
