Liam Livingstone: CSK weigh trade with Sunrisers Hyderabad
Chennai Super Kings are assessing a move for England all-rounder Liam Livingstone from Sunrisers Hyderabad, who signed him for INR 13 crore at the IPL 2026 auction. The 17 November retention deadline frames the talks for IPL 2027.
Outlook reports that several franchises are involved in the discussions, that Sunrisers Hyderabad are undecided and that no deal has been finalised.
The player and the price
Livingstone, 33, went to Sunrisers Hyderabad at the IPL 2026 auction for far more than his INR 2 crore base price. Both Outlook and Wisden carry the INR 13 crore figure.
His season did not match the outlay. Outlook says he scored 15 runs in two games before losing his place in the playing XI.
Khaleel Ahmed in the mix?
Some sources say Chennai Super Kings could offer Khaleel Ahmed, though the report itself says that claim may not be fully reliable.
How the two sides finished IPL 2026
Sunrisers Hyderabad’s last match of IPL 2026 was a 47-run defeat to Rajasthan Royals on 27 May, after a 55-run win over Royal Challengers Bengaluru on 22 May.
Chennai Super Kings ended their results run with an 89-run loss to Gujarat Titans on 21 May. Three days earlier, Sunrisers Hyderabad had beaten them by 5 wickets.
