The bowling effort

The Punjab pair led India’s attack on a good Eden Park surface. Anshul Kamboj added two wickets, including Santner for four and Nathan Smith for one.

India went in without their first-choice pace trio of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna, who were unavailable because of workload management and injury-related issues.

New Zealand’s innings

Tim Seifert top-scored with 38 off 43 balls, and Blair Tickner hit 34 off 23 late in the innings.
