Harmanpreet Kaur’s 126 takes her past Mithali Raj on ODI hundreds
Harmanpreet Kaur scored 126 in the second ODI against Zimbabwe Women, which lifted her above former captain Mithali Raj into second place on India’s list of women’s ODI century-scorers. It was her eighth hundred in the format.
Only Smriti Mandhana, with 14 ODI centuries, is ahead of her. The innings came weeks after Mandhana replaced Harmanpreet as India’s captain ahead of the Zimbabwe series.
The innings
Harmanpreet reached three figures off 121 balls and hit 15 fours in the innings in Vadodara. India finished on 328/6.
She was out for 126 when she mistimed a shot down the ground and a substitute fielder took the catch at long-off. According to a PTI report carried by ThePrint, the hundred followed a match-winning 91 she had hit in one of the T20Is.
After the match, Harmanpreet said she wants to keep enjoying her batting in the next phase of her career.
