IPL retention deadline moved to 17 November; auction on 16 Dec
All 10 IPL franchises now have until 17 November to finalise their retention and release lists, a two-day extension, before the IPL 2027 mini-auction in Goa on 16 December.
Tribune India reported the extension, and a second outlet, ThePrint, carried the same dates.
What the extension changes
PTI reported that the BCCI’s decision to move the retention deadline gives franchises time to complete formalities before the mini-auction. The new date applies to every one of the 10 teams, and it covers both the players they keep and the players they let go.
For the franchises, the two extra days mean more time to settle those lists before the auction in Goa.
A conflicting date in circulation
A related Business Standard headline cited reports that IPL 2027 retentions were due on 15 November. That differs from the 17 November deadline stated by ANI and PTI.
